NBL Round 10 Betting Tips

Cairns Taipans vs New Zealand Breakers

Friday, 7:30pm AEDT

The Taipans recorded another impressive win last weekend when they took down the red-hot Melbourne United. The Taipans have been the giant killers this season and a few more decent performances could see them enter the top four. The Breakers also got a valuable win last weekend against the Hawks. Their 12-point victory dragged them off the bottom of the ladder and will hopefully kickstart their season. The Taipans have been inconsistent this campaign, but we can’t bet against them on last week’s form. We see them beating a Breakers side that has struggled on the road this season.

Cairns Taipans -3.5

Perth Wildcats vs Sydney Kings

Friday, 9:30pm AEDT

The Wildcats are going through a bit of a lull at the moment with back to back losses against opposition they were expected to beat. They’re still in a good position at 8-5 for the season, but they wouldn’t want to keep dishing up lacklustre performances, especially this weekend. On the other hand, the Kings are absolutely flying at the moment with 11 wins from 12 games and are now three games and percentage clear at the top of the ladder. On current form it’s hard to see the Wildcats being good enough to win this, so we’ll be backing in the Kings to get the job done on the road.

Sydney Kings -1.5

Melbourne United vs Adelaide 36ers

Saturday, 5:30pm AEDT

Melbourne United’s six-game winning streak came to an end when they travelled to Cairns last weekend. They were outplayed from start to finish and simply couldn’t find an answer to the Taipans relentless attack on the basket. Despite the loss, United remain inside the top four and in a decent position considering their 1-4 start. Meanwhile, the 36ers have found some better form in recent times to record back to back wins. Their record is now at 6-6 on the season, which has them knocking on the door of the top four. This should be a cracking game between two of the better sides in the league. We expect it to be a close one with the home side nudging out the visitors.

Melbourne United 1-10

Brisbane Bullets vs Illawarra Hawks

Saturday, 8:00pm AEDT

The Bullets looked on their way to a win at home against Phoenix last weekend when they piled on 61 points in the first half. However, the second half was completely different as they scored just 34 and went down by double figures. The Bullets are now 5-7 on the season and are only two spots above last position. The Hawks fell back down to the bottom of the table after losing to the Breakers in New Zealand in Round 9. They were slow out of the blocks and couldn’t make a successful comeback despite another triple double from LaMelo Ball. We expect the Hawks to bounce back here and be competitive against a Bullets outfit that doesn’t have much of a talent advantage over them, which is rare for the Hawks to find. Expect another big game from Ball with his Hawks having every chance of victory.

Illawarra Hawks +5.5

$1.90

SE Melbourne Phoenix vs Perth Wildcats

Sunday, 3:00pm AEDT

South East Melbourne Phoenix were impressive last weekend when they won on the road against the Bullets. They trailed by double digits at one stage but managed to win quite comfortably in the end by 15 points. That win lifted the Phoenix past Melbourne United and into third spot on the ladder. As mentioned above, the Wildcats have had their struggles of late and won’t find it any easier in their second game of the weekend. We expect Phoenix to have the legs at home and deliver a comfortable win to cover the spread.

SE Melbourne Phoenix -2.5

$1.90

Sydney Kings vs Cairns Taipans

Sunday, 5:00pm AEDT

The Kings are the best team in the competition and have already proven it on numerous occasions this season. Their lone loss came against Melbourne United on the road and it was only by a couple of points. The Kings will take on the Taipans here who are in some decent form and have already taken a couple of big scalps this season. We expect the visiting side to test the Kings all the way, but eventually it will be the cream that rises to the top with Sydney winning by a narrow margin.

Sydney Kings 1-10

$2.50

NZ Breakers vs Brisbane Bullets

Monday, 7:30pm AEDT

We’ve got a Monday night game in Round 10 between the Breakers and the Bullets in New Zealand. The Breakers will be hoping their win over the Hawks in Round 9 will kickstart their season and have them push towards the top four, while the Bullets will be looking to bounce back from a couple of pretty disappointing performances of their own in recent weeks. We’re keen to take the early price on the Breakers at home in hope they can show more of what they displayed last weekend. We’re expecting them to start this clash a lot shorter than their current odds.
